Vijayawada: Cricketer Jagupilla Durga Bhavani who once asked the state home minister and police to inquire into a case of sexual harassment of her and other players in the Andhra Cricket Association, has pleaded that no inquiry be done into her death by suicide.

A day after the death, Machavaram police revealed that the suicide letter was found in the room where she hanged herself while alone at home in Gunadala. Machavaram inspector Umamaheswara Rao said, “We believe it was just an extreme step and no suspicion surrounds her death.”


Yet, the delay in the detection of the suicide letter, certain strange points she raised in it, like addressing her husband as Satya Prasad Garu, her plea to avoid any inquiry into the death, and she signing the letter repeatedly, raised questions
