HyderabadParts of the false ceiling in the orthopedic general ward at the Osmania General Hospital collapsed early on Monday morning, creating panic among the patients. About 25 patients in the orthopedic general ward on the first floor were shocked to find parts of the false ceiling falling at 4.30 am. A patient, Ibrahim, who was undergoing orthopedic treatment, panicked when debris fell on him. After the debris was removed, Mr Ibrahim was shifted to another ward.

OGH superintendent Dr Raghu Ram, Dr Ramesh of the Telangana Government Doctors’ Association and resident medical officers of the hospital inspected the ward.  Dr Ramesh said, “The state government has sanctioned funds and the King Koti hospital is being readied to take in the orthopedic patients. There is already an existing operation theatre in the hospital which can be utilised and the remaining utilities will be created to shift the department.” Meanwhile, funds have also been sanctioned for the oxygen pipeline and operation theatre at Petlaburj, which will be ready in two months
