Agriculture, Food Processing and other allied sectors are considered to be the stronghold ofthe Indian economy. They are the important source of raw material and demand for manyindustrial products, particularly fertilizers, pesticides, agricultural implements and a varietyof consumer goods. They contribute nearly 22% of India's Gross Domestic Product (GDP).About 65-70% of the population is dependent on agriculture for their livelihood.The Andhra Pradesh state, gifted with seven different agri climatic zones is one of theleading producer of Rice, Mango,Palm,Poultry,Groundnut, Banana, Chillies and many otheragri-commodities. Due to this reason, the food processing industry in Andhra Pradesh has asignificant role in India's development because of the vital linkages and synergies itpromotes between the two pillars of our economy, industry and agriculture. Fast growth inthe food processing sector and simultaneous improvement in the development of valuechain are also of great importance to achieve favorable terms of trade for Indian agricultureboth in the domestic and the international markets.This international conference-cum-exhibition named as FOOD 360° is a step to synergizecollaborative efforts among the stakeholders to deliberate on the challenges for developinggreater linkages at state, national and international level enabling growth of the Agricultureand food processing sector.
